Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Series Tipped To Get 3 Years of Android Updates

Xiaomi is all set to launch the Redmi Note 13 series in India on January 4 which is a week from today. The lineup comprises Redmi Note 13, Note 13 Pro, and Note 13 Pro Plus. Turns out the trio will welcome three years of major Android OS upgrades once they arrive officially in India and the global market.

This information comes from tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore on X according to whom, the entire Redmi Note 13 series will arrive with Android 13-powered MIUI 14. This is applicable for both Indian and Global ROMs. Adding to it, the Chinese manufacturer will offer three years of Android updates covering the device till Android 16 in 2026. 

On top of that, the devices are also in line to get 4 years of security updates that should keep the phones healthy till 2028 at the earliest. 

Exclusive: All Redmi Note 13 series phones will ship with MIUI 14 based on Android 13, in India as well as Global.

All phones will get 3 years of Android updates (up to Android 16) & 4 years of security updates.

The trio – Redmi Note 13 series, made it to China with Android 13 OS, however, it isn’t clear if the aforementioned three years of Android updates and four years of security updates apply to the Chinese variants or not. As of now, the Chinese models are running on MIUI with plans to run on HyperOS from Xiaomi which just released the first & second batch of devices to get their upgrades. 

Coming to the Indian and Global ROMs, the HyperOS update seems to be a far-stretch which means we won’t get it in a while.

About the specs sheet, the trio sports a 6.67” OLED 68B 120Hz 1800 nits display with a 446 ppi density. There’s up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage depending upon which model you choose. When it comes to the chipset, the standard model picks up Dimensity 6080, the Pro takes on Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 and the Pro Plus uses a Dimensity 7200 Ultra SoC under the hood. 

 Both the Pros have 200MP w/ OIS, 8MP ultrawide, and 2MP macro sensors at the back. It leaves the standard variant with a 108MP primary plus 2MP depth sensor. The front cameras on the trio remain the same at 16MP.

On the battery side, there’s a slight 100mAh battery between the capacities of the trio a 5000mAh battery. The charging speed does rise from 33W, 67W to 120W as you move through the ranks.
