Whatsapps new Avatars will be rolling out today Heres what to expect

1 year ago 74

Whatsapp recently announced that users will be able to create Avatars that can be shared with friends in the form of stickers. Now, just a mere day after the announcement, the global messaging app has revealed that this feature will be available to users today, according to WABetainfo. The feature will be available to both Android and iOS users, as long as they update to the latest version of the app.

What is Whatsapp’s Avatars feature?

Whatsapp Avatars is a feature that lets you create a digital version of yourself on the app itself. The avatar is then saved to create a sticker pack, which will include animations of it conducting various actions or expressing emotions. Users can then send these personalised stickers to communicate how they feel about messages. In many ways, it’s like an emoji but with your face.

You can also set the avatar as your profile picture, and go back to the drawing board to edit it anytime if you are not satisfied. Moreover, Whatsapp will also keep adding style enhancements to these avatars so that you can keep playing around with them.

The feature is believed to be rolling out today. The brand has marked WhatsApp for iOS 22.23.77 and WhatsApp for Android 2.22.24.73 as compatible updates.

Whatsapp Avatars’ Beta testing is complete

The Avatars feature had been rolled out for Beta testing all the way back in October. Whatsapp had already begun releasing this feature to a select few users who had a stable version of the app, and now the company feels confident about releasing it to the masses. All you need to do is update to the latest version of the app to use the Avatars. However, in case it is not available to you even after the update, you might just have to wait a few days.

Avatar messages will be, like other Whatsapp messages, end-to-end encrypted.
