The first week of October is over and we have all the big news covered in our weekly recap.

OnePlus kicked things off on Monday with its Nord Watch. It packs a 1.78” AMOLED rectangular screen with a resolution of 368x448 px, a heart rate sensor, an SpO2 monitor and sleep tracking. Xiaomi followed by announcing its Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro alongside the Redmi Pad tablet. The 12T Pro gets the latest Qualcomm flagship Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset alongside a 200MP main camera (Samsung ISOCELL HP1) and a 5,000 mAh battery with 120W charging. The standard Xiaomi 12T brings a Dimensity 8100 Ultra SoC alongside a 108MP main camera and the same battery and charging speeds as its Pro sibling. Xiaomi 12T starts at €600 for the 8/128GB trim while the 12T Pro goes up to €750 for the same RAM and storage.

Redmi Pad is a 10.6-inch Android 12 tablet with MediaTek’s Helio G99 chipset. The IPS LCD display with 1200 x 2000px resolution sports a 90Hz refresh rate and an 8MP selfie camera. The tablet brings quad speakers, an 8,000 mAh battery and 18W charging. Pricing starts at €279/ INR 12,999 for the 3/64GB trim.

Oppo announced its A77s with a Snapdragon 680 chipset, 90Hz screen, and 50MP camera. Huawei nova 10 SE comes with a thin body, Snapdragon 680G and 66W charging.

Infinix unveiled the Zero Ultra with a 200MP main camera (Samsung HP1 sensor), Dimensity 920 chipset and 4,500 mAh battery with 180W Thunder Charge. Pricing starts at $520. Infinix Zero 20 also saw daylight packing an industry-first 60MP selfie cam, Helio G99 chipset and 108MP Samsung ISOCELL HM2 main sensor. Pricing is set at €275.

Thursday belonged to Google and its Pixel 7 series. The new Pixel 7 and 7 Pro are refinements of last year's Pixel 6 series with the big update being the new Tensor G2 chipset. Pixel 7 Pro gets a new 48MP telephoto module 5x optical magnification while the 12MP ultrawide now gains auto-focus and can also serve as a macro cam.

Pixel 7 gets a slightly smaller 6.3-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate while the lareger Pro has a 6.7-inch LPTO AMOLED refreshing at 120Hz. Both phones charge at 20W with the Pixel 7 sporting a 4,355 mAh battery while the 7 Pro has a 5,000 mAh cell. The small Pixel starts at $600/€650 while the 7 Pro is going for $900/€900.

Pixel Watch was also announced on stage – it brings Fitbit sports tracking combined with Google’s WearOS in a sleek 41mm casing with a round 1.2” AMOLED display. It tracks your heart rate, SpO2 levels, sleep and stress alongside all-day battery life for $350/€380 (Wi-Fi only) and $400/€430 for the LTE model.

Apple iPhone 14 Plus finally went on sale, nearly three weeks after its announcement. We saw leaked designs of Samsung Galaxy S23 cases showing out the alleged design of the phones. It seems like Apple will skip its in-person event for its upcoming MacBook and iPad Pro models and will instead have an online launch directly on its homepage.

These were the biggest stories of week 40. See you next week.
