In a sentence that sounds like a blast from past HTC announced a new phone this week. The HTC U23 Pro packs a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, a 6.7-inch FHD+ OLED with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 108MP main camera. The U23 Pro is IP67 water and dust tight and has a 4,600mAh battery with 30W charging. The phone is out in Taiwan, starting at TWD16,990 ($550/€510/INR45,505).

The Sony Xperia Pro-II's details surfaced in a report this week. It says the phone will have three Exmor-T stacked sensors (the same advanced tech as in the Xperia 1 V's main sensor), and could once again bring a 1-inch main sensor (whether it will be able to use its full size this time remains a question). The report says we may have to wait until early 2024 for the Pro-II.

Google resolved the overheating and battery drain issue that was plaguing some Pixel 6 and 7 series users. The fix was done by Google on a server level, without the need for the end user to do anything.

Oppo could be on its way out of the European market. After reports that Oppo is leaving the French market, now its German website was wiped of all products, fueling the speculation that Oppo is leaving Europe. Oppo refutes the claims.

A hands-on of the Google Pixel 8 Pro leaked, showing what appears to be an infrared thermometer on the back. The Pixel 8 Pro is expected to be unveiled alongside the Pixel 8 in October, and they're both rumored to be powered by Google's own Tensor G3 SoC. The Pixel 8 Pro's screen is reportedly going to be smaller than the Pixel 7 Pro's, at 6.52", and it is said to use Samsung's biggest ISOCELL GN2 sensor for its main camera.

Finally, the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 may arrive earlier than usual. A rumored event for July 26 would mean the pair is going on sale on August 11 - that's one or two weeks earlier than the pair's 2022 announcement.
