Ming-Chi Kuo, analyst at TF International Securities, has shared updates of a new survey via Medium, informing that Apple had completed tests for iPhone 14 satellite connectivity. Check details here.

Recently, there were leaks saying that Apple will be launching satellite connectivity on iPhone 14. And now when we are just a few days away from the Apple's Far Out event in which the iPhone 14 series is expected to be launched, Ming-Chi Kuo, analyst at TF International Securities, has shared updates of a new survey via Medium regarding the rumored iPhone 14 support for satellite communication. According to the survey update, Apple had completed tests for satellite communication.

"Satellite communication is one of iPhone 14's test items before mass production, and Apple had completed hardware tests for this feature. iPhone 14's satellite communication mainly provides emergency texting/voice services," the report said. According to the information provided by AppleTrack earlier, this iPhone 14 service will be limited to use of text messages, while photos and voice calls will be supported later. "A new report says Apple WILL be launching satellite connectivity on iPhone 14. As launch, the service will be limited to brief text messages, with photos and voice calls not supported until later...," the tweet read.

While, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that the increasing frequency of natural disasters and geopolitical conflicts in recent years will likely make emergency texting/voice services via satellite communication a must-have smartphone feature. He further informed in the report that iPhone 14 offering satellite communication service depends on whether Apple and operators can settle the business model.

He further said in the survey update, "I learned that Apple had already completed the hardware development of satellite communication in the iPhone 13. The lack of support is because the business model had not been negotiated."

"Hard to predict precisely when the iPhone will offer satellite communication service, but I believe it will happen eventually," he added.

The Apple Far out event is scheduled for September 7. During the event the company is expected to launch 4 iPhone 14 models alongside other Apple products including Apple Watch, and iPad.
