Vivo X100 Pro Camera Samples Promise Higher Zoom Levels With Excellent Details

Vivo X100 camera samples

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo has launched its new flagship series, the Vivo X100. It consists of two models, including the vanilla Vivo X100 and the Vivo X100 Pro. Contrary to the reports, the phones feature MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300 SoC. Nevertheless, they offer top-tier specifications, especially in the camera department. Although we are yet to see detailed camera reviews, known tipster Ice Universe has posted a couple of samples on his official X (formerly known as Twitter) account.

Vivo X100 Pro Captures Great Details

Earlier today, Ice Universe uploaded six different images clicked from the Vivo X100 Pro. Captioning these images, he writes that the smartphone is the new “king of telephoto,” as its optimization ability is strong, even at 100x zoom.

He also adds that the smooth processing and negligible noise surpasses Samsung’s Galaxy S23 Ultra. Although the camera samples are not conclusive, neither there’s a comparison shot with the S23 Ultra; the images, especially at the high zoom levels, retain a decent amount of detail.

Here Are How The Images Look Like

The first image shared by the tipster shows a city landscape with buildings on the left and the distant right and a four-way on the bottom right corner. This photograph is from the Vivo X100 Pro’s 23mm or 1x lens. Clicked at an effective focal length of 46mm or 2x, the second image gives a closer view of the relatively low buildings in the center of the previous photograph.

The third photo, with an effective focal length of 100mm or 4.3x, zooms in further and reveals the text written on the central building’s board (which is hardly visible in the first image).

The Vivo X100 Pro Holds Well, Even At 20X Zoom

In the fourth image, clicked at 233mm or 10x zoom, we see a clear sight of the building’s entrance, lined up with two basketball courts. Given that the Vivo X100 Pro doesn’t have a dedicated 10x optical zoom sensor, the processed image looks excellent. It contains plenty of details, including a red flag post, what looks like a couple of pine trees, and a couple of sign boards.

At 20x, the Vivo X100 Pro can capture the details on a smaller signboard near the front entrance, along with even finer text written on the glass entrance. The final image, clicked at 2,326mm or 100x zoom, captures the text written on the glass windows.

As mentioned earlier, there aren’t any comparison shots available, but overall, the Vivo X100 Pro’s camera appears to be doing a great job bringing subjects closer to the photographer.

As and when the smartphone arrives in the international market, it would be interesting to see how it compares with the Galaxy S23 Ultra, which has a dedicated 10x optical zoom lens, and a larger primary sensor with a resolution of 200MP.
