Dimensity 9300 on Vivo X100 Pro throttles 46% in less than 2 minutes

Vivo is about to reveal the X100 and the X100 Pro camera-centric smartphones in India on January 4, 2024. Ahead of the official announcement from the company, a publication has leaked the market operating prices of the two models, which indicates what the actual retail price for end consumers could be. Here’s everything you should know about the costs of upcoming smartphones.

Vivo X100 Leaked Market Operating Price

Per a report by TechOutlook, Vivo X100 will be available in the Indian market in two storage options. The base variant with 12GB of RAM and 512GB storage will carry a market operating price (MOP) of Rs. 63,999, while the top variant with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage will have an MOP of Rs. 69,999.

Vivo X100 Pro Leaked Market Operating Price

The report also mentions that the Vivo X100 Pro will arrive in India with one storage variant (16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage). This particular model will have an MOP of Rs. 89,999. Now, this doesn’t mean that the smartphones will be available at this price, as the leak mentions MOPs and not the maximum retail price or MRP.

It is important to mention that the Indian MOPs are higher than the Chinese retailer pricing of the smartphones. The vanilla X100 costs CNY 3,999 (about Rs. 48,000) for the base variant and CNY 4,999 (about Rs. 56,500) for the Vivo X100 Pro.

Market Operating Price Vs. Maximum Retail Price: What Is The Difference?

MOP refers to the price at which products or services are available to retailers. In other words, it is the lowest price at which retailers can sell something without making any profit or loss. However, retailers always add a margin over this price to make profits, which defines the maximum retail price of a product or a service.a

Here’s What The Vivo Flagships Could Cost In India

As a result, the Vivo X100 base variant could sell for around Rs. 70,000, while the top variant could cost around Rs. 75,000 to 80,000 in India. Similarly, the Vivo X100 Pro could be available for around Rs. 1,00,000.

A good reference point for the actual retail price could be the price of the previous models in the series. The Vivo X90 5G costs about Rs. 58,000 in India, while the X90 Pro 5G costs around Rs. 70,000 in India, roughly a year after launch.
