TVS Apache RTR 310 Teased by TVS MD ahead of Sept 6 debut, new details revealed

1 year ago 69

TVS has consistently relied on its Apache range of motorcycles as its most potent asset, drawing parallels to the power of Apache helicopters. This renowned RTR street naked motorcycle series is on the verge of welcoming a new flagship, tentatively named the Apache RTR 310. In anticipation of its launch, TVS MD Sudarshan Venu is rigorously testing engineering samples.

In a recent move, the company introduced the TVS X, an upscale electric scooter, marking a pioneering addition to the current lineup of electric scooters in India. With the TVS X already on the market, the Indian automotive firm is now focusing its efforts on bolstering its premium motorcycle segment.

TVS is set to unveil its interpretation of the BMW G 310 R, utilizing the shared 310 platform co-engineered by TVS and BMW. While BMW has introduced three distinct motorcycles derived from this platform, this marks TVS’ second offering following the Apache RR 310. The recent teaser features TVS MD Sudarshan Venu, exuding his excitement while seated on the motorcycle. Notably, this test mule, as teased by TVS, sports significantly reduced camouflage, incorporating velcro for effortless removal. It proudly showcases a white number plate bearing temporary registration from the Bengaluru RTO. These details collectively suggest that this test mule is likely gearing up for a television commercial shoot.

Here’s What To Expect

The motorcycle presents an aesthetically pleasing design with well-proportioned features. At the front, it boasts a robust headlight, gold-finished USD front telescopic forks, updated ORVMs with high-quality stalks, and a rectangular fully digital instrument cluster that could also serve as a faux windscreen. These headlights likely incorporate LED technology, possibly even projectors.

The external turn indicators feature LED elements. There’s a subtle protrusion noticeable on its USD telescopic front forks, suggesting potential adjustability for compression and rebound, akin to TVS’ BTO program for the RR310. The fuel tank exudes a muscular and rugged appearance, adding to its overall macho aesthetic.

Powertrain

The liquid-cooled engine, delivering 33.52 bhp and 28 Nm of torque through a 6-speed manual transmission, remains consistent with the powertrain found in the current lineup of 313-cc motorcycles stemming from the TVS and BMW collaboration. Also, familiar are the single-sided exhaust, tubular frame, and radiator units.

However, the novelty lies in several updated features, including alloy wheels, rear turn indicators positioned on the tire hugger, streamlined rear subframe panels, split seats, and redesigned grabrails, among other enhancements.
