Sunbird launched in India, as a way for Android users to text with iMessage

1 year ago 65

Sunbird originally launched late last year but is now available in India. It allows you to text iMessage on Android. So, if you wish to send messages to your iPhone contacts from an Android phone, you can do that now. You can send and receive blue bubble messages using Sunbird for Android. Here’s how it works:

How to use Sunbird for getting iMessage on Android

Sunbird claims the setup process takes only 60 seconds. You just need to have an Apple ID. Create one if you don’t have it already.

1. Once the Sunbird app is installed on your Android phone, open it. The first screen lists the app’s features. Click continue.

2. The next screen tells you about its privacy policy and press continue.

3. In the next screen, enter your iMessage username and password. Hit continue once they are filled.

4. The process of connecting the iMessage account to Sunbird may take some time. But you should be able to experience Sunbird right away.

Here’s what you can expect:

4 best Sunbird features

Sunbird

1. You can combine different apps like iMessage (of course), WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Instagram DMs, etc.

2. You will be able to send good-quality photos and videos over iMessage.

3. Sunbird is assuring encryption between Android and Apple devices. All your text messages will be encrypted and won’t even stay on Sunbird’s servers.

4. Another major relief is that you don’t require a computer or Apple device to set this up.

Danny Mizrahi, CEO of Sunbird Messaging wants to go beyond just facilitating iMessage on Android, and “build an all-in-one app that works as universally as possible”.
