Samsung to kill flagship Galaxy A series smartphone in 2023! Good for Oppo, Vivo?

1 year ago 65

Samsung is rumoured to kill the Galaxy A7x series of smartphones this year. Hence, no Galaxy A74 is not happening.

Samsung could kill its flagship Galaxy A series smartphone in 2023. Based on fresh rumours, it is said that Samsung may no longer launch a Galaxy A series device sitting above the upcoming Galaxy A54. Hence, there will be no Galaxy A74 5G this year and going forward, there won't be any Galaxy A7x series device. Not that it matters fro most smartphone buyers in India considering the Galaxy A73 from 2022 was under-equipped when compared to its rivals and didn't get much attention.

Based on a report from the GalaxyClub, it is said that the Galaxy A74 is not in development and Samsung has no plans to bring it anytime soon. No reasons have been furnished for this decision but it seems Samsung is done with the series and will instead focus on the Galaxy A54 as the flagship Galaxy A Model this year.

No Samsung Galaxy A74?

The cancellation of the Galaxy A74 in Samsung's lineup poses a lot of questions, considering it filed the gap between the Rs. 40000 Galaxy A5x model and the Galaxy S21 FE. In 2023, it will be more puzzling since Samsung is rumoured to not develop a Galaxy S22 FE as well. Does that mean that if you want to upgrade from the Galaxy A54, your only options are the Galaxy S23?

Not sure which
mobile to buy?

One possibility is that Samsung could follow Apple's strategy and sell the Galaxy S22 series devices at a lower price. Hence, the Galaxy S22 could takeover the duties of the Galaxy A73 while the Galaxy S22 Plus could takeover the baton from the Galaxy S21 FE.

The Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus could be far better deals than the existing Galaxy A73 and Galaxy S21 FE, since the latter models have plastic bodies and compromised set of features. The Galaxy S22 models have superior build quality and could provide for a solid competitive advantage over Apple's iPhone 13, iPhone 12, and iPhone SE 3.

Nonetheless, Samsung is yet to confirm anything on that front and hence, we will need to wait and watch.
