Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Series appears on FCC to launch soon

As August is closing in, South Korean giant Samsung is working towards its next set of launches. Turns out Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 (GW6) is expected to launch soon as it recently passed the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) certification.

The FCC certification provides a plethora of information about the upcoming GW6. The watch will be launched in two models i.e. Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 and Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic are likely to launch this July/August this year.

The FCC listing reveals two sizes i.e. 40mm and 44mm bearing model numbers SM-R930 and SM-R940 respectively. It further adds connectivity information such as GNSS, NFC, and Wi-Fi 802.11a. There are wireless charging capabilities too with the charger bearing model number ER-OR900 as per the FCC listing.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 is slated to launch in July or August this year alongside Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5. The FCC listing puts it forward that the launch is nearing although there are no dates available.

Apart from that, there’s Galaxy Watch 6 Classic rumored to arrive as well with sport rotating bezels, and a 1.47” Super AMOLED panel with 470×470 pixels. There’s a 425mAh battery under the hood as well although we will have to wait for some more time to get hands on more concrete details.

When it comes to expected specs, the Galaxy Watch 6 series is likely to be powered by Exynos W980 SoC and will have curved frames, thinner bezels, and bigger displays than before. There’s a magnetic loop strap onboard as well.
