This week at the Unpacked event, Samsung officially announced the Galaxy S23 series, introducing the regular Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and the Galaxy S23 Ultra. OnePlus created a Twitter thread mocking the South Korean giant during their unpacked event. 

Now, OnePlus is line to launch its flagship for 2023, i.e., OnePlus 11, after making it available in China.  OnePlus, on February 7, is hosting a Cloud 11 launch event where it will showcase and reveal OnePlus 11 price and availability details. The OnePlus 11 could be priced as a Galaxy S23 competitor. 

Both these phones have many similarities, but some striking differences also exist. We decided to compare these phones to help you understand which one you buy. 

Samsung Galaxy S23 vs OnePlus 11: Pricing and availability

The 8GB RAM variant of the Samsung Galaxy 23 with 128GB internal storage is available in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 79,999. In the International market, Galaxy S23 can be purchased for $799. As for the OnePlus 11, its 12GB RAM variant with 256GB internal storage may enter the international market for a price of $799 (expected). We can expect it to reach the Indian shores at a similar price point.

Starting with the rear panel, the device has three sensors aligned at the top left corner, with the flash placed next to the first one. The power button and the volume rockers of the smartphone can be seen on the right spine. The speaker grille, SIM tray, and USB Type-C port can be seen at the bottom.

Coming to OnePlus 11 5G, the device has a glossy finish rear panel with OnePlus branding at the center of the phone. The device’s camera island, which looks like half a part of a capsule, is placed at the top left corner. Furthermore, you can see a circular island protruding from the camera section consisting of all the sensors and the flash. The phone’s alert slider is located at the right spine, and the power button and volume rockers can be seen on the left side.

The Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protect the screen of the phone. It also has an always-on display. To support high-definition streaming, the phone also has HDR10+ certification.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 works on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor especially built for Samsung by Qualcomm. It custom chip ensures better GPU, NPU, and ISP performance. The handset also has 8GB RAM and 128GB in the regular variant, and the top variant comes with 8GB RAM and 512GB internal storage. The flagship processor is paired with high-capacity RAM and ample storage. Smartphone connectivity options include WiFi 802, GPS, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC support, etc. It operates on Samsung’s One UI 5.1 based on the Android 13 operating system. Samsung has promised four years of software upgrades and 5 years of security updates for the Galaxy S23 series.

The OnePlus 11 5G runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC paired with 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage in the regular variant, and it goes up to 16GB RAM and 512GB internal storage in the high-end variant. Undoubtedly, it is going to be pretty difficult for any other phone to compete with OnePlus in terms of gaming performance. The handset works on the Oxygen OS 13 based on the Android 13 operating system. For one-of-a-kind audio output, it also includes stereo speakers.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 draws power from a 3900mAh Li-Ion battery that supports 25W fast charging. The company claims that the device gets charged up to 50% in 30 minutes. A major highlight regarding the smartphone is that it also supports wireless charging. Not only this, it also has support for 4.5W reverse wireless charging.

The OnePlus 11 5G is powered by a 5000mAh Li-Po battery that supports 100W super fast charging. As claimed by the company, the device gets up to 50% charged in 10 minutes, and it gets fully fueled up in 25 minutes max. We will update the battery drainage speed of the phone as soon as we practically test it.
