Samsung Galaxy S23 could let go of THIS feature to keep costs down

1 year ago 71

Samsung Galaxy S23 could settle for a lower end vibration motor to keep the costs low next year.

Samsung has had a great year with the Galaxy S22 series, putting up a good show against the dominating iPhone 13 series this year. Now, it is time for the Galaxy S23 series to show up and take another dig at the iPhone 14 series. While initial leaks and rumours have already given us a fair idea of what to expect, a new leak now reveals an omission that the vanilla Galaxy S23 will have in order to keep the costs in check. For enthusiasts, this might be a big deal.

A well-known tipster @chunvn8888 has said that Samsung might downgrade the vibration motor on the Galaxy S23, the standard compact model. We don't know what the downgrade means but we expect it to be less stronger than the current vibration motor on the Galaxy S22 series but the experience could be inferior. For the Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra, Samsung could continue to offer the nicer components on these variants. This could help Samsung get a much lower starting price on the Galaxy S23 series, undercutting the iPhone 14 series.

Samsung Galaxy S23 leaks again

Previous leaks have already revealed that the Galaxy S23 series will change a couple of things to keep it all interesting for customers. The standard Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus will now have a design inspired by the Galaxy S22 Ultra, whereas the Galaxy S23 Ultra may have minor refinements to the design of its predecessor. The vanilla models will have the camera islands to unify the looks of the flagship series.

The Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus are also expected to have slightly thicker display bezels with a small front camera cutout. The phones could rely on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip that could offer better performance and superior power efficiency. Samsung could also upgrade the camera sensors on these devices to extract better photography. The Galaxy S23 Ultra is said to gain a new 200MP camera sensor for the main shooter while the rest of the sensor will remain unchanged from the Galaxy S22 Ultra. The S Pen stylus is also expected to make a return in an improved manner.
