Samsung Galaxy A05 spotted on Google Play Console hinting imminent launch

Samsung Galaxy A05 has been doing the rounds of the rumors mills for the past month. Cut to now, we got our hands on the first-ever hands-on leak and a Google Play Console listing that puts a high-resolution photo along with some of the key specs.

The Google Play Console listing shows Galaxy A05 from both front and back. As seen in the hands-on leak that came a few hours ago, the phone brings an Infinity-U notch at the front on its HD+ screen with thick bezels. There’s no word on the display tech yet although we are suspecting any upgrade from the Galaxy A04’s LCD panel given its price segment.

Moving on, we have the back that looks glossy with thin vertical strips that run through the width of the back panel. It pretty much looks like a carbon fiber had it gone for a check box design but hey, nonetheless, the phone looks chic.

The listing puts forward 3.8-3.9GB of RAM which means we will get a typical 4GB RAM onboard. Turns out the 6GB variant may not be existing although we have to wait for the final confirmation from Samsung before putting the last nail in the coffin.

On the hardware end, we have Helio G85 SoC that puts it way further than Galaxy A04’s P35 SoC. Perhaps, the successor will be better in performance. There’s Android 13 onboard with OneUI 5.x on top although we are almost sure it is OneUI Core that the phone will get. There’s a dual camera setup at the back although the specifications remain unavailable. For context, Galaxy A04 had a 50MP primary plus an auxiliary shooter with a 5MP front camera.

Last, the device is expected to host a 5,000mAh battery matching the capacities with its predecessors. Of course, the faster chipset should put Galaxy A05 in a better position in terms of power management and efficiency. The phone made its clearance through Anatel (Brazil) and FCC hinting at imminent launch probably at a price point of $150. Again, we are yet to get any info from the South Korean giant which means we will have to wait for some dates as of now.
