Samsung recently debuted its Exynos 2400 chipset with the flagship Galaxy S24 Series. The chipset has scored well in various benchmarking tests, making it one of the segment’s fastest and most efficient. However, it seems like the brand is in no mood to give it a rest as Samsung has already started intensive work on the next Exynos 2500 SoC. Samsung Exynos 2500 is expected to debut in 2025 and is deemed to be the ‘Dream chip’ for the company. Some of its key features recently surfaced online.

Exynos 2500 Chipset: Features

The Exynos 2500 SoC is said to have the same 10-core CPU cluster configuration as the Exynos 2400. Samsung will introduce Cortex X5 which will improve the performance a notch as it is expected to come with various upgrades over Cortex X4. Reports claim there will be no change in the number of Cortex X-cores as the aim is to prevent excessive power consumption in a power-conscious world.

The Exynos 2500 will also feature an updated Cortex-A730 with the existing Cortex-A520 core. The clock speed is said to be around 3.20GHz to 3.30GHz which means a difference of 100MHz in comparison to the predecessor. This change might seem small but will have a noticeable effect in terms of processing power.

The most important development for Exynos 2500 is its production using Samsung’s state-of-the-art 3nm GAA process. This will be a huge improvement from the 4LPP+ node that has been used for Exynos 2400. As expected, it will be the first time, this process will be used for a smartphone chipset. This will further strengthen Samsung’s hold in the flagship chipset market.

The next chipset from Samsung, Exynos 2500 might be the game-changer as it will have Cortex X5, a better Cortex A730, and be made on 3nm GAA process. With this SoC, Samsung will push boundaries and inspire other chipmakers to up their game.
