Samsung Galaxy Z FoldFlip 5 Repair Program

The Korean tech giant Samsung has expanded its Self-Repair Program to include the popular foldables. The program previously included several Galaxy S series devices, including the latest Galaxy S20, Galaxy S21, and Galaxy S22 series. As part of the program, users can order a self-repair kit with the required components and replace it using the instructions manual.

Galaxy Z Fold/Flip 5 Can Now Be Repaired At Home

On December 19, 2023, Samsung added the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 to the devices supported as part of the Self-Repair program. The repair modules are available to order in the United States, South Korea, and 30 new European countries, including Switzerland, Portugal, Denmark, Ireland, Greece, and Finland.

Samsung’s Partner, iFixit, Will Provide Repair Parts

Customers can now repair some parts of their Samsung Galaxy Z Fold/Flip 5, including speakers, charging port, volume key, and power button. “This offers Galaxy users extra convenience and choice to get more out of their devices by extending the life of their products.” Through December, Samsung will also add the Galaxy S23 and Tab S9 series to the Self-Repair program. “Similarly, Galaxy Book series users will be able to repair the front and rear case, display, battery, touchpad, power key with fingerprint reader,” etc.

Currently, Samsung’s Self-Repair partner provider, iFixit, isn’t showcasing the Galaxy Z Fold/Flip 5 on the concerned microsite. Hence, there’s a good chance that the parts will be available a few days after the announcement. Nonetheless, it is a great sign that Samsung is extending the repair program to its foldables, showing confidence in the devices’ design and that users can repair them.
