Samsung could launch a phone with rollable display in 2025

Earlier this year, Samsung unveiled its innovative Samsung Rollable Flex lineup of displays that could roll. As per a new leak coming from a credible tipster, the South Korean giant could be working on a smartphone using Rollable Flex technology likely to arrive in 2025.

Tech tipster Revegnus tweeted that a phone sporting Samsung Rollable Flex is in the works and will undergo mass production in 2025. It has an Under Panel Camera (UPC) technology thereby concealing the front-facing camera within the display among other sensors. Moreover, it will have a zero-bezel design.

When Samsung showcased its rollable flex tech, the display was able to enlarge itself five times when rolled open compared to when rolled in, from 49mm to 254.4mm. It uses an O-shaped axis to roll and unroll in such a size, beating the existing limitations of foldable screens.

Samsung has been perfecting its foldable display tech for years now. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 and Z Fold5 are clear specimens of the same, however, there’s no stopping for the giant. It is playing around with techs like dual-folding screens and tablets with rollable displays among others that would disrupt the smartphone market.

There’s not much known about Samsung’s purported phone with a rollable display. We do know that the display unrolls itself to show a 12.4” display, it will be bezel-less and edge-to-edge Plus, the front-facing cameras are embedded under the display thanks to the UPC technology.

It remains to be seen if Samsung is actually working on a smartphone scheduled for 2025 or not. For the unversed, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 and Z Fold7 are expected to arrive in the second half of 2025 which means, this alleged phone could be along.
