Samsung Announces Winners of Eighth Edition of Samsung E.D.G.E Campus Program

Samsung, a global technology leader, has concluded its eighth annual pan-India campus program, Samsung E.D.G.E., recognizing outstanding talents and innovative solutions from students across the country. The program, designed to showcase business acumen, strategic thinking, and leadership skills, witnessed significant participation from over 15,000 students representing 35 campuses, including top B-Schools, engineering colleges, and design schools.

The first-place honor went to MICA, Ahmedabad’s Team Edge Runners, who impressed the jury with their inventive Gen AI-based solution. Focused on elevating customer engagement in both offline and online retail settings, the solution emphasizes personalization, preferences, and accessibility for regional audiences. The winning team, comprising Aviral Agarwal, Mansi Mathur, and Sakshi Bansal, was awarded a substantial cash prize of Rs 4,50,000, Samsung’s flagship smartphones, and coveted pre-placement offers from Samsung.

IIFT, Kolkata’s Team Creative Geniuses secured the first runners-up position with their integrated platform merging AI with Neurosciences. Targeting three human senses – audio, visual, and touch – their solution offers customers an immersive experience within the Samsung product ecosystem. The team, consisting of Apurv Gautam, Ruhi Rai, and Soumya Vijayshankar, received a noteworthy cash prize of Rs 3,00,000 for their innovative approach.

IIM Bangalore’s Team Hustlers claimed the second runners-up position by presenting a Gen AI-based solution for a seamless customer journey from pre-sales to post-sales. Their solution focuses on customer acquisition, retention, and identifying needs more effectively, ensuring an enhanced brand experience. The team, comprising Ami Jagani, Abhishek Chhattani, and Vishal Shakya, received a cash prize of INR 150,000.

The finale event, held in Gurugram, was attended by J B Park, President and CEO, Samsung Southwest Asia, and other senior leaders of Samsung India. Sameer Wadhawan, Head of Human Resources, Samsung India, highlighted the program’s commitment to fostering innovation and problem-solving, empowering students to bring about meaningful change in society.

The program spanned three months and three rounds, engaging 15,000 teams from 35 prestigious institutions. Teams collaborated on executive case summaries, presented detailed solutions, received mentorship from Samsung leaders, and culminated in a National Round, ultimately announcing the top three winning teams. The overwhelming response and increased participation this year underscore the success and impact of Samsung E.D.G.E. in nurturing the spirit of innovation among young minds.
