Redmi Note 12 Series featuring MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC and 200 MP Camera to launch on October 27: All details so far

The Redmi Note 12 series launch date is now officially confirmed by the Chinese smartphone brand. The Xiaomi sub-brand took to Weibo to announce the release of the Note 12 series in China to be on October 27. The line-up will include the base variant Redmi Note 12, Note 12 Pro, and the top-end Note 12 Pro+.

Redmi also disclosed some specifications of the Note 12 series via a Weibo post. The new series will be the first devices to come equipped with the recently launched MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC. The chipset will reportedly offer improved battery life and performance. In addition, the premium variant, Redmi Note 12 Pro+, is said to feature a 200 MP Samsung ISOCELL HPX sensor with 1/1.4-inch sensor size and 2.24μm.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ will retain a similar design to the Note 12 and feature a triple camera setup on the back. The Redmi Note 12 camera module design appears identical to the Redmi Note 11T series, which the company introduced a few months ago in China. Xiaomi has confirmed that it will be using the Sony IMX766 sensor on the Redmi Note 12 Pro. In addition, the Redmi Note 12 Pro is expected to feature 120W fast charging support. The Redmi Note 12 Pro+, meanwhile could offer 210W charging as per the 3C certification database listing.

Ahead of the Redmi Note 12 series launch in China, the Redmi Note 12 has appeared on the IMEI Database and BIS Certification websites. The device was seen on the IMEI Database with model number 22101316G (G supposedly represents the global variant). The Redmi Note 12 Indian variant has also been spotted on the BIS Certification (as tipped by tipster Mukul Sharma).
