Realme is gearing up to introduce its newest smartphone series in the Indian market, a development hinted at by its appearance on Flipkart. While the official name of the handset has not been confirmed by Realme, indications from the Flipkart micro-site strongly point towards the Realme 12 series. If this speculation holds true, the Realme 12 series is poised to succeed the Realme 11 series launched in June 2023.

The Realme 12 series teaser page reveals the intriguing marketing tagline, “Beyond 200MP, Periscope Awaits,” hinting at a groundbreaking addition – the introduction of a periscope camera to the upcoming number series handset. This represents a noteworthy advancement, considering that the periscope lens was previously exclusive to mid-range smartphones, like the Realme X3 SuperZoom unveiled in 2020.

Positioning itself as a strong contender, Realme appears poised to take on rivals like the Redmi Note 13 Pro series and other smartphones in the market. Notably, the Redmi Note 13 Pro phones recently made waves with the introduction of a 200MP camera in the Indian market. In response, Realme is rolling out an attractive exchange program, inviting users to swap their existing 200MP camera smartphones for the upcoming Realme 12 series.

Recent TENAA certification listings have unveiled potential specifications, suggesting that the Realme 12 Pro might be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, while the Realme 12 Pro+ could feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC. 

Anticipated display specifications for the Realme 12 series suggest the inclusion of 6.7-inch curved AMOLED panels boasting a 120Hz refresh rate and Full HD+ resolution (2412 — 1080 pixels). In terms of camera features, the Realme 12 Pro+ is expected to house a 64MP periscope lens with 3x optical zoom, while the Realme 12 Pro may sport a 32MP periscope camera offering 2x zoom capability.
