Smartphone launches this week

Poco M5

The new Poco M5 is coming today! Poco is all set to launch its next smartphone of the M-series, the Poco M5 with a 6.58-inch full HD+ LCD IPS display and a 90Hz refresh rate, which will be powered by MediaTek Helio G99 chipset. It will also pack a 5,000mAh battery with support for Type-C-based 33W charger. It is expected to be launched around Rs. 15,000. Yes, it is quite affordable and nowhere near the iPhone 14 price-point.

Redmi 11 Prime 5G

Redmi is set to launch a couple of new devices. The Redmi 11 Prime 5G is launching in India on September 6, which is expected to be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 11E that was unveiled in China. Based on its China version, it is expected to feature a 6.58-inch FHD+ IPS LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and may pack the MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset. This smartphone is also expected to be a budget smartphone with a price tag around Rs. 15,000. No, it will not compete with the iPhone 14 either.

Redmi A1

Apart from Redmi 11 Prime, there is another budget smartphone - the Redmi A1 which is launching tomorrow. We already know a lot of details about the smartphone which may pack the MediaTek Helio G22 chipset with LPDDR4X RAM and eMMC 5.1 support. It may feature a 6.52-inch HD+ display and an 8MP main camera. It too is not the kind of heavy-weight that can target an iPhone.

Realme C33

Realme is also coming up with a new budget smartphone on September 6, the Realme C33 with Unisoc T612 chipset, 5000mAh battery, and a 50MP main camera sensor. Impressive specs, but still not amounting to a face-off with an iPhone.

Moto Edge 30 Ultra

Just a day after the iPhone 14 launch, Moto India has scheduled an event to unveil two handsets - Moto Edge 30 Ultra and Edge 30 Fusion on September 8. As touted earlier, the Moto Edge 30 Ultra will be the first phone that will offer a 200MP camera sensor and Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip. It definitely stands a chance to start some kind of a rivalry. iPhone 14

Apple is most likely to launch four new models - the standard iPhone 14, large iPhone 14 Max/Plus, the Pro version and the highly specced iPhone 14 Pro Max. Rumours and leaks are hinting toward major upgrades on the Pro models - from design, camera upgrades, new chipset, premium features and much more.
