Google has officially teased the Pixel 8 series in a video. With the teaser, the company also announced the pre-order availability of the phones. The Tensor G3-powered smartphones will show up at the launch event in October, and buyers can get their hands on the device in a few days from the event. Here’s everything we know about the Pixel 8 launch timeline, along with speculation about its availability.
Pixel 8 To Be Available For Pre-Orders Starting October 5
While the Pixel 8 series launch event will take place on October 4, 2023, the smartphones will be available for pre-orders in India the next day, i.e., October 5, 2023. Like the Pixel 7 series, Google will sell the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro exclusively via Flipkart. Although the company hasn’t announced the release date of the phones, there’s a good chance that the phones will be available to purchase from October 12 if we follow the Pixel 7’s release schedule from last year.
Meanwhile, Google has revealed the entire look of the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro in a teaser video on X (formerly known as Twitter. The video shows that the Pixel 8 will feature minimal changes, primarily in colors. Although the teaser shows Pixel 8 in a rose finish, we expect the smartphone to roll out in three other colors, including Mint, Hazel, and Obsidian. Earlier this year, Smartprix revealed exclusive Pixel 8 Pro renders, which match the final look Google unveiled.
The teaser also displays the Pixel 8 Pro in Porcelain finish, which leaked on the company’s official website earlier this month. The latest leaks claim that the smartphone should also ship in black and blue colors. Every detail about the phone’s design, including the punch-hole display, a triple camera setup in one pill-shaped cutout, and a temperature sensor below the flash, can be seen in the official teaser uploaded by the company.
