OnePlus 12

OnePlus is gearing up to launch the OnePlus 12 in its native market tomorrow, i.e., December 5, 2023. Ahead of the launch, the company has confirmed the battery and connectivity details of the flagship phone, which will take the baton from the OnePlus 11 launched earlier this year. From what it looks like, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer is not leaving any stone unturned for its new handset. Here’s everything we know about the OnePlus 12.

OnePlus 12 Battery Capacity

OnePlus has confirmed via a post on Weibo (a Chinese microblogging platform) that the OnePlus 12 will ship with a massive 5,400 mAh battery, which can last longer than the competitors. It has a DOU rating of 1.79, implying that it could last around 1.79 days on one charge for most users, and if that’s true, the phone can indeed take on some of the most popular smartphones in the category, including Galaxy S23 Ultra, Pixel 8 Pro, etc.

OnePlus 12 Charging Time

Further, the battery supports 100W wired SUPERVOOC charging, which can charge the phone from zero to 100 percent in about 26 minutes. The OnePlus 12 also supports 50W wireless charging, which can juice it from zero to 100 percent in about 55 minutes. In both cases, the smartphone leaves most flagships behind. However, it would be interesting to see whether the phone’s global variant comes with the exact battery specifications, as with the OnePlus 11, that wasn’t the case.

OnePlus 12 To Feature An Infrared Remote Control

In terms of connectivity, the OnePlus 12 will feature a USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 1 port that should offer higher wired data transfer speeds. In addition, the phone also has a multi-functional infrared remote control function, something we’ve seen on several smartphones in the past. The sensor will help users control home appliances like televisions, air conditioners, or other devices that rely on infrared remote technology.

IP Rating Falls Short Of Other Flagshpis

Last but not least, the OnePlus 12 will come with an IP65 water and dust resistance rating, which falls short of the industry standard IP68. While the company has confirmed these details, a leak on Weibo also says that the handset will come in three storage models, including 16/512GB, 16GB + 1TB, and 24GB + 1TB. More details about the smartphone should surface tomorrow, which is the phone’s Chinese launch.
