Ever since Carl Pei announced Nothing in 2020, there’s been no turning back for the brand. The brand started by launching some audio products like Nothing Ear (1) TWS but soon forayed into the smartphone space when Nothing Phone 1 was launched in 2022. While Nothing Phone 1 was a mid-ranger, Nothing Phone 2 launched in mid-2023 and came out as a flagship smartphone with top-of-the-line specs and impressive design.
Continuing the trend, Nothing will launch the 3rd Generation smartphone in 2024 and although no concrete details have been announced, the rumor mills are still going strong. Here’s what we know about Nothing Phone 3 so far.
Nothing Phone 3: Launch Timeline
If we look at the launch dates of Nothing Phone 3’s predecessors, we will notice how both Nothing Phone 1 and Nothing Phone 2 went official in July. So, chances are strong that Nothing Phone 3 will also launch in July (or August) 2024. Since most of the smartphone launches take place during the first few months or on festivals, July becomes an unconventional yet powerful launch month as there’s relatively no competition during this time.
Nothing Phone 3: Pricing
Since the predecessors followed a very different route in terms of pricing, we don’t know what Nothing will come up with this time. This is because Nothing Phone 1 was launched for Rs. 32,999 but Nothing Phone 2 came with a starting price of Rs. 44,999. What Carl Pei will do with Nothing Phone 3 remains a mystery but if additional features get added to the 3rd generation device, the price might bump up to around 50,000.
Nothing Phone 3: Specs
Following the strategy used in the previous two models, Nothing Phone 3 is expected to be powered by a processor from the preceding year rather than a recently launched chipset. Nothing Phone 3 might be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 if it launches. Speculations are rife that a potential mid-range device (Nothing Phone 2a) is also being worked upon by Nothing.
As for software, Nothing focuses on offering a clean and aesthetically pleasing OS, and the same will continue with Nothing Phone 3 which will run Nothing OS 3 that will be bloatware-free and customizable. In terms of software updates as well, we hope Nothing will extend the support beyond 3 years this time.
The camera system has loads of room for improvement and hopefully, Nothing will work on making it better with Nothing Phone 3. Nothing Phone 1 camera had many issues which were resolved with Nothing Phone 2 but still the experience is a mixed bag. In good lighting conditions, the cameras work fine but in low light, challenges remain. The shutter speed gets slow, exposure times are longer and image quality is also degraded. Nothing Phone 3 should come with improvements in these areas.
Nothing Phone 3 is also expected to get a bigger battery and faster charging support. More will be known about these aspects as 2024 draws in and the countdown to launch begins.

Nothing Phone 3: Name & Design
Nothing keeps most of the details under wraps until its launch month, so we aren’t sure if Nothing Phone 3 will be called such, but If the brand wants to have a clear lineage, this will be the way to go.
In terms of design as well, Nothing is expected to stick to a transparent back as it differentiates Nothing phones from all others. Nothing Phone 3 will have glyph lights again, strips of LED lights controllable via software, and more.
