Nothing Phone (1) at a glance

After having a troubled start with several issues related to the defective manufacturing, the Nothing Phone (1) continues to be a strong offering in the midrange smartphone space. The Phone (1) takes on the likes of the Apple iPhone SE 3rd Gen and Google Pixel 6a. Equipped with a Snapdragon 778G+ chip, the Phone (1) offers a clean Android experience, courtesy of its Nothing OS skin on top of Android 12. Nothing promises three Android OS updates and four years of security patches.

The biggest highlight, however, is the Glyph interface. It appears to be a fancy set of LED notification lights but it has several functions. The Glyph lights can be used as fill lights while taking close up photos. Additionally, with the “Flip to Glyph” enabled, the phone can only use the LED lights to notify of calls and texts.
