Nothing Phone (1) could be SPECIAL for Indians! Check out why

Nothing Phone (1) is now confirmed to be manufactured in India right from its launch. Check out all its details. 

Nothing Phone (1) will make an impact on Indians as soon as it is announced in India. Ahead of its launch on July 12, 2022, Nothing India VP and GM Manu Kumar said in an interview that Nothing will be manufacturing its first smartphone in India. The smartphone will be manufactured in Tamil Nadu, although Nothing did not reveal who will be its contract manufacturer. The company had previously announced that the Phone (1) will be sold via Flipkart in India exclusively. Nothing is yet to reveal the design of the phone.

In an interview with The Economic Times, the Nothing VP said that, “Nothing phone (1) is the real start of our journey and we cannot think of a better way to establish ourselves in India, which is a key market for us.” Nothing aims to create an ecosystem of devices just like Apple, but open to all other manufacturers for improved compatibility. Currently, the company sells its ear (1) earbuds and Nothing Launcher, of which the former is compatible with all Android and iOS devices.

Nothing Phone (1) will be “Made in India” too

Nothing has already detailed some of its plans regarding the Phone (1) smartphones. For starters, the Phone (1) will have an all-new design previously unseen on any other smartphone. The teasers have shown us a transparent rear design showing most of the internals, including the chipset and a wireless charging coil. Another teaser on Flipkart revealed the phone will have flat edges, just like the iPhone 13 Pro. Additionally, the phone will be available in white initially.

Nothing confirms that the Phone (1) will use a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip. Rumours suggest the phone could use the newest Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chip, or the slightly older Snapdragon 778G chip. Whichever one it chooses, the phone will cater to the midrange segment instead of a flagship grade product. Nothing will also offer its Nothing OS experience on the Phone (1), which will be based on the latest Android version. The company had earlier confirmed the Phone (1) will get three years of OS updates and four years of security updates.

Rumours suggest the phone will have a dual camera setup on its back. All of this will rely on the 4500mAh battery, which was known I have reached the office be supported by wireless charging only. However, a newest leak suggests thePhone (1) will be powered by a 45W wired charging solution. This doesn't sound like the fastest charging solution in the market but should fill up the battery faster than the 20W Apple charger on all iPhone models.
