iPhone 15 will miss this famous design feature which has been seen in previous iPhones by now. What new things will this bring? Check here.

Apple is going to launch the iPhone 14 this year, most probably around September or October. What is making the headlines is the leaks and rumours surrounding the upcoming next iPHone series. But here, we are not talking about iPhone 14, but its successor iPhone 15. As recently revealed by LeaksApplePro, Apple is no longer working on its under-display fingerprint sensors for the iPhones. That means iPhone makers will turn the main research and development efforts towards the Face ID technology only. The GizChina report mentioned that Apple will be working on the under-screen camera technology. While having the under-display camera, the infamous notch is something that will leave us from the iPhone for good, and according to the report, iPhone 15 will be the first one to skip this.

Previous speculations and reports suggested that Apple initially planned to bring an under-screen camera with iPhone 13 Pro, but as we know we haven't got it yet. This simply means there is still a lot of work that needs to be done before we witness the upcoming iPhone series. Hence, for now, Apple decided to postpone the technology for a few years for research. Till now, iPhones have either featured a notch design or a thick top frame, but with iPhone 15, it seems to get a change. While looking at the previous launch patterns of iPhone models, iPhone 15 will probably hit the market at least a year after the launch of the next iPhone 14. There is no confirmation but iPhone 14 is tipped to have a modification of a notch display in two smaller cutouts- one like classic punch-hole shape and another a center pill-shaped punch-hole design.

Does this mean no on-screen fingerprints in iPhones?

According to the iDROPNEWS report, Apple will no longer work on the development of the under-screen fingerprint feature for the iPhones. There were rumours that Apple has been working on in-screen fingerprint sensors for a long time, but now the Face ID feature seems to be a way forward for iPhones. Recently Apple brought a new Face ID unlocking feature with a face mask along with the release of iOS 15.4 beta version which will obviously continue in upcoming launches. And the next step is the under-screen camera feature. Though, this information is just based on rumours and reports, which should be taken with a pinch of salt until we hear some official information from the company.
