What is Notification cooldown

If you’ve been exploring the early version of Android 15, you might have noticed a new feature called “Notification cooldown.” Essentially, it’s designed to help users deal with the potential annoyance of receiving multiple notifications from the same app in quick succession.

This feature gradually lowers the volume of subsequent notifications from the same app, preventing you from feeling overwhelmed by a sudden flood of alerts. It’s a small but practical addition that aims to improve the overall notification experience for Android users.

To access the “Notification cooldown” feature, navigate to Settings and select Notifications. Scroll down to the bottom to find the Notification cooldown option. Tapping on this setting reveals three choices:

1. Apply cooldown to all notifications

2. Apply cooldown to conversations

3. Don’t use notification cooldown

This feature can be particularly useful in scenarios where you receive a high volume of emails throughout the day, participate in active group chats, or experience frequent engagement on social media platforms. It offers a tailored approach to managing notifications, allowing users to maintain control over their notification experience based on their preferences and usage patterns.
