1 year ago 79

The latest leak revealed some important upgrades that the upcoming Google Pixel 7a is expected to get over the Pixel 6a. Here is all you need to know.

Google launched the Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro recently and both the phones have won over many fans as well as critics. Now, everyone is expecting the launch of its affordable sibling, the Google Pixel 7a. However, it will not arrive before mid-2023. But that has not stopped several leaks and rumours about what may be coming from the House of Google. Notably, Google has already confirmed the new Pixel 7a. According to leaksters, it is expected to bring some notable upgrades over the Google Pixel 6a. Notable tipster, Kuba Wojciechowski has purportedly leaked some camera, display, and charging specs of the next Google Pixel 7a. Here is how it will be different from Pixel 6a.

Google Pixel 7a expected specs

  • Display: One of the major upgrades that Pixel 7a is expected to get over 6a is the display. Tipster Wojciechowski quoted anonymous sources as saying that Pixel 7a may feature a 90Hz 1080p display panel from Samsung. This is interesting to see as the current Pixel 6a comes with a refresh rate of 60Hz.
  • Camera: Along with the display, the leakster also revealed the expected camera upgrades of Google Pixel 7a over Pixel 6a. The current affordable model packs a 12.2MP Sony IMX363 primary sensor, while the upcoming Pixel 7a is expected to feature a triple camera setup with a 64MP Sony IMX787 primary sensor and an IMX712 wide-angle lens. However, there will be no dedicated telephoto camera.

A report by 91Mobiles says, “The higher megapixel count combined with Google's camera software should ensure significantly improved picture quality on the Pixel 7a.”

  • Charging: For the first time, Pixel's a-series will get wireless charging, tipster Wojciechowski suggested. However, 9to5Google earlier revealed that it will be specifically limited to just 5W, which will be slow to charge the smartphone.

Apart from these, reports suggest that the Google Pixel 7a will have several other upgrades over the Pixel 6a in terms of hardware improvements, but more details are still awaited.

As there are still months in the launch of the Google Pixel 7a, more information is expected to be unveiled. Meanwhile, you should take the information with a pinch of salt.
