Motorola Razr 2022 has launched in Europe to take on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 5G. Here are all the details.
It launched in China earlier and now, it has launched in Europe! The Motorola Razr 2022 has arrived on the global scene, coming in as the successor to the 2020 Motorola Razr 5G. A new design, more powerful specs, and classic Motorola features are what Motorola pins its hopes on to take on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 – which is currently the world's most popular foldable smartphone to buy. However, you need to watch out for a few things first.
The first one is the price, which at €1,200 is more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4. However, if it launches in India, we expect Motorola to adjust the price accordingly to compete with the Samsung foldable better. The Razr 2022 has got a new processor, a bigger display, and a new design that should help Motorola to a larger extent.
Motorola Razr 2022 features at a glance
The Razr 2022 remains the same phone that launched in China earlier this year. Hence, it gets a new design that is a big departure from the previous generation Razr models. It is all curvy on the outside and modern on the inside. The Razr 2022 has a bigger 6.7-inch FHD+ flexible OLED display with a refresh rate of 144Hz. The hinge mechanism is new and that means the chin is gone. The notch also goes away for a punch-hole camera cutout.
Inside, there is a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset that is paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The Razr 2022 runs on Android 12 with MyUX customisations, and Motorola is yet to comment on the software support front. A 3500mAh battery keeps the phone alive and there's support for 30W wired fast charging. The phone is also IP52 water repellant.
As for the cameras, the Razr 2022 has a 50MP main camera that is accompanied by a 12Mp ultrawide camera on the outside. There is also a 32MP new camera inside for selfies and video calls. The phone also gets a 2.7-inch OLED Cover Display that shows widgets and several shortcuts to crucial phone actions.
The phone only comes in a single Satin Black colour variant.
