Motorola Razr 2022 has been announced as the flagship foldable device from the company. Here is how much it costs.

Motorola Razr 2022 is finally out and at first glance, it seems the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 is in trouble! The Razr 2022 is a sequel to the Razr 5G from 2020 and it brings mega upgrades. Prices are lower than ever and this Motorola seems to be set to take on the Samsung foldable. For Razr fans, there is finally a new flagship chipset, flagship-grade cameras, and a new design that looks as if it belongs from 2022 instead of 2004. No information whether it is coming to India.

The Motorola Razr 2022, unlike the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, only comes in a single colour variant – black. Yes, no fancy colours or customisable paint schemes. However, most of you are going to like the prices. The base version costs CNY 5,999, which is approximately Rs. 71,000 for the 8/128 GB variant. The 8GB/256GB variant costs CNY 6,499 while you have to pay CNY 7,299 for 12GB/512GB variant.

Motorola Razr 2022 features at a glance

The Razr 2022 has gone for a new design, ditching the previous “iconic Razr' look. Hence, there is now a larger 6.7-inch FHD+ OLED display with a refresh rate of 144Hz. The bezels are slimmer and the front camera, which is rated at 32MP, sits in a punch-hole cutout. The display also supports HDR10+ colours. The hinge now allows the phone to be shut without any gap, although Motorola doesn't say whether it is Ultra Thin Glass.

The Cover Display still remains the same at 2.7-inches but Motorola has modified its OS to make better use of this smaller OLED screen when the phone is closed. It is also bigger than the Galaxy Z Flip 4's 1.9-inch Cover Display.

This display is now accompanied by a dual camera setup, consisting of a 50MP main camera with 1/1.5-inch sensor and OIS, whereas the secondary camera is a 13MP ultra-wide camera. The phone comes with dual speakers and support for Dolby Atmos. There is a new My UX 4.0 interface that brings together a couple of new features.

Most importantly, there is a new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip inside and that offers top-levels of performance. This will be a first for a Razr, given that the previous two generations had the slower Snapdragon 700 series chips.
