Motorola One Action receiving the update to Android 11, but not all devices are eligible

Over eight months after the Android 11 update was released by Google, Motorola has finally begun rolling out the update to Android 11 for its Motorola One Action smartphone. However, the update will not roll out to all users, according to a new report.

Released in 2019, the Motorola One Action was released with Android Pie (9.0) onboard, powered by an Exynos 9609 chipset and 4GB of RAM. The device received an update to Android 10 last year, and all models of the device released around the world received the update. However, according to a report, the Motorola One Action will not receive the update to Android 11.

The reason why the Android 11 update will not be available for Motorola users is that the company's device was not released as part of the Android One program in all regions — including the US. As these North American devices are not part of the program, they have already received the update to Android 10, which is the single update that most Motorola devices are eligible to receive — except Android One devices.

The report also mentions that there is no changelog at the moment, but the update to Android 11 for the Motorola One Action should bring features like Chat Bubbles, improved media controls, a redesigned notification area with the new ‘conversation' section, scoped storage, and better permissions management. The update is reportedly rolling out to devices in Europe and Latin America such as Brazil — so it could be a while before it rolls out to customers in India as well.
