Motorola confirms its phones supporting Jio 5G Standalone network, Check list

1 year ago 66

Motorola has confirmed all its 5G smartphones supporting the Standalone network on Jio’s network.

Motorola has released a list of all its devices that will support Jio's Standalone 5G network in India. Jio's 5G network has been live in India for a while now and it requires 5G devices to support the Standalone 5G spec. Most affordable and midrange devices only support either SA or NSA 5G networks, thereby restricting them to carriers. Motorola has now released a complete list of all its 5G devices that will be compatible with the Standalone network of Reliance Jio.

Reliance Jio and Motorola have announced a list of all the devices that will support Jio's 5G network. The list of 5G devices include some of the recently launched models as well as some models from 2021. Take a look.

Motorola devices supporting Jio 5G announced

Note that not all of Motorola's 5G devices are present in this list. Some of Motorola's more popular devices from yesteryears are missing. For example, the Motorola Razr 5G, Motorola Edge, Moto G 5G, and a couple of other 5G devices are missing from this list. It seems that users of these devices will need to rely on Airtel's NSA 5G network in order to access 5G speeds.

Jio's Standalone 5G network will rely solely on the 5G infrastructure set up by Jio and won't rely on the older 4G LTE network. This allows subscribers to achieve higher download speeds, as seen by several users availing the Jio True 5G Welcome Offer. Airtel's 5G network, on other hand, relies on the NSA architecture, which means the network uses the 4G LTE network to offer faster download speeds without sacrificing network availability.

Jio has previously announced the support for Standalone network support on Xiaomi's devices. The list included almost all of Xiaomi and Redmi branded 5G devices. However, the list excludes the Xiaomi Mi 10 and Xiaomi Mi 10i 5G, two of Xiaomi's first 5G phones in India.
