1 year ago 96

Motorola has just announced its 5G rollout plans for its 5G smartphones in India. Check out all details.

While the limelight is on Apple this month for its 5G update, Samsung jumped in to announce the same for its rest of the Galaxy S series models. And now Motorola comes in with its own announcements, beating both Samsung and Apple to releasing the 5G update for its smartphones. In an official statement, Motorola India has confirmed rolling out the 5G update on its 5G compatible smartphones starting this month. In fact, Motorola may ready all its 5G phones before Samsung and Apple do it.

Motorola says it has already released the 5G update for its recently launched flagship models; the Edge 30 Ultra and Edge 30 Fusion. The rest of the Motorola 5G smartphones, which include several models from the Moto G series as well as Motorola Edge series, will be getting the 5G update by the first week of November 2022. Hence, if you have a slightly old 5G Motorola phone, you will be able to access 5G speeds by early November.

Motorola 5G update starts rolling out

In an official statement, Prashanth Mani, Executive Director, Motorola Asia Pacific says, “Motorola 5G smartphones in India, across categories, have hardware support for 11 to 13 5G bands including all 8 Sub 6 GHz 5G bands that have been announced in India. We have already started the roll-out of OTA software updates for enabling 5G across both SA (Reliance Jio) and NSA (Airtel & Vi) 5G modes, simultaneously on Motorola devices, enabling consumers to experience seamless 5G across operators. Our updates on the recently launched Motorola edge 30 ultra and edge 30 fusion have already been rolled out and other Motorola 5G devices will be receiving the updates in subsequent weeks, targeting completion by the first week of November 2022.”

Motorola has been raining 5G smartphones throughout the year across all price points. We have reviewed several of their 5G smartphones in the Moto G and Motorola Edge lineup this year, and all of them should perform well. The great battery life on these Motorola phones should help users once they start using 5G. After all, 5G services will be a major battery hog on 5G phones and a great battery life is a necessity.

On the other hand, rivals brands such as Xiaomi, Poco, Realme, Oppo and Vivo have already enable 5G support on their handsets.
