First, the tablet sports an 8-inch HD display with 800 x 1,280 pixels resolution. Under the hood, the tablet runs on the MediaTek 8766A processor, up to 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage. Out of the box, the device runs on the Android 13 operating system.

The configuration should give the tablet enough processing power for everyday tasks like browsing the internet, consuming video content, attending online classes or workshops, scanning documents with the rear camera, and running educational applications.

Regarding optics, the Milkyway tablet has an 8MP rear camera and a 3MP front camera. Powering the device is a 5,100 mAh battery that charges via a USB-C port. Connectivity options on the tablet include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G, 4G VoLTE, GPS, and the USB-C port we mentioned above. Users also get a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Apart from the regular features, the tablet features a powerful AI assistant called BharatGPT. This offers several tools designed for students, such as real-time speech translation. It can also answer general queries like regular chatbots. The company also mentions that BharatGPT can help users through a voice, video, or chat assistant.

Although these features will be free for the first year, the company will launch different subscription models next year.

Since the tablet isn’t available in a retail marketplace yet, there’s a good chance it will first be available to educational institutes or distribution centers. On the Government e-marketplace platform, the tablet is available for Rs. 14,200 for a minimum quantity of 10 units.
