Massive makeover for iPhone 15 likely; it will be a historic move for Apple fans

Will iPhone 15 series come with a USB-C port? Here’s what Apple may be forced to do.

The iPhone 15 leaks and rumours are already picking up pace - from the new chipset, and periscope camera to a USB-C port instead of a lightning port. Now, to that has been added a ruling- a law that has to do with the democratisation of the charging process. The arrival of the USB-C port has been the talk of the town for months, but now things may finally be moving that way. The European Parliament voted on October 4 to make tech companies provide a USB-C charger and port across all their smartphones from the autumn of 2024. This is the first of its kind rule which certainly makes the USB-C connectors mandatory by Android-based devices standard across the 27-nations. This will especially impact Apple iPhones.

Back in October 2021, the European Commission had proposed to introduce the USB-C as a common charging port to allow users to change their devices with the same USB-C charger. Not just that, it also proposed to unbundle the sale of chargers to limit the number of unwanted charging adapters left unused. Now, a total of 602 lawmakers voted in favour of the plan. Whereas, thirteen members of the European Parliament voted against the law. It is expected that it will likely become law at the beginning of next year. That means the iPhone 15 series is on the radar to bring the USB-C charging adapter next year.

iPhone 15 leaks and rumours

Not just USB-C charging port, but the iPhone 15 series is expected to make even more new upgrades over the iPhone 14 lineup. First of all, leaks suggest that Apple will change the nomenclature of the iPhone 15 Pro Max to the ‘'iPhone 15 Ultra,'' which is expected to have 2 front cameras, a periscope camera sensor, and starting storage from 256GB. It will also get the new A17 Bionic chipset. On the other hand, the iPhone 15 Pro is expected to get only a single selfie camera.

Just like this year, Apple analysts suggest that the company will continue to increase the difference between the non-Pro and Pro iPhone 15 models. That means, iPhone 15 will get the A16 Bionic chipset, but the USB-C port is expected to feature on all four models of the iPhone 15.
