In an update tweeted by Apple analyst Ming Chi-Kuo, new MacBook Pro models will enter mass production in Q4 of 2022 and new M2 Pro chip may end up using 5nm process despite contradicting reports.
New 14" and 16" MacBook Pro with new processors will enter mass production in 4Q22. Given TSMC's guidance that the 3nm will contribute revenue starting in 1H23, processors of 14" and 16" MacBook Pro models may still adopt the 5nm advanced node.

Since Apple’s new MacBooks are expected to arrive sometime in Q1, the timing does not line up with previous reports and rumors about Apple’s M2 Pro chip being built on the 3nm process.
Kuo’s findings align with previous reports claiming the M2 Pro chips would begin production later this year.
