iPhone 16 dummies' leak shows off saturated colors

1 month ago 15

The iPhone 16 series is on track to launch in September and we’ve seen a fair share of leaks that show we’re in for a redesign on the base iPhone 16. The latest confirmation of that redesigned back comes from Sonny Dickson who shared an image of the iPhone 16 in five color options, again confirming the new vertical camera alignment.

iPhone 16 is shown in white, black, blue, green, and pink which appear to be a lot more saturated than the muted colors on last year’s iPhone 15. The back appears to have a glossy finish and we can also spot the power button and the rumored new Capture button - both located on the right-hand-side of the device. The latter will be a new mechanical button with a capacitive surface to allow for swiping gestures for zooming. It appears to be placed in the same place where the mmWave antenna is on iPhones sold in the US.

All iPhone 16 series devices (vanilla and Pros) are also rumored to feature the Action button which will finally phase out the mute switch. The vanilla iPhone 16 is expected to launch with a 6.1-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution and still capped at 60 Hz. The display may feature thinner bezels which would be a welcome addition.

All four iPhone 16 series devices should launch with the Apple A18 chipset with the Pro models getting the A18 Pro version while the vanilla will get the baseline A18 chip. Apple is also expected to offer a 3,561 mAh battery inside the iPhone 16 which is 6% larger than the cell on the iPhone 15.
