It is being claimed that the iPhone 14 series will be about $150 costlier than iPhone 13 series.

The new iPhone 14 series is set to be more expensive than the iPhone 13 lineup, according to a series of tweets by Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. He claimed that the next iPhone 14 lineup will get a higher price tag than the current flagship series. “I estimated iPhone 14 series ASP would increase by about 15% (vs. iPhone 13 series ASP) to $1,000-1,050 (USD),” Kuo tweeted. This price hike in the iPhone 14 series is a significant jump from what some previous leaks were referring to. However, there are some basic reasons behind the expected price hike for the forthcoming iPhone 14 series.

Kuo explained that the average selling price for iPhone 14 models will be around $1,000-$1,050, mainly due to top-end variants of the lineup - the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max - which are tipped to get price hikes and higher shipment proportion. This may seem a little complicated, but the shared details by Kuo indicate that the average selling price for the iPhone 13 series was closer to $900. That means, on average, you will have to pay around $150 more to buy an iPhone 14 than the iPhone 13, Forbes reported. Also, the Pro models are expected to get some really big changes that are proving to be costly and hence, the retail price will rise. If this happens, then the price hike in the iPhone series will be one of the biggest in Apple's history.

According to Kuo, Apple is planning to equip the Pro models of the series with more exclusive features and upgrades over the standard iPhone 14 and new iPhone 14 Max to mark a differentiation line between the Pro and non-Pro. And those leaked new designs for the Pro models with i-shaped notch display, upgraded cameras with 48MP sensor, and a new A16 Bionic chipset are all taking the pro models a notch higher than the non-pro avatars of the series.

Moreover, the upcoming large 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max will replace the mini iPhone this year. This will again bring a huge price difference between the last year's iPhone 13 mini price of $699 to a new iPhone 14 Max with an expected price of $899.

However, the iPhone 14 price and specs being talked about currently all come from leaks and rumours. Apple is yet to announce the official launch date, which is expected to be scheduled in the first week of September.
