iPhone 14 Pro is said to be in huge demand when compared to other models, suggests early offline pre-order data.

iPhone 14 Pro seems to be in huge demand compared to the rest of the models in the lineup! Based on the latest information from Apple tipster Ming-Chi Kuo, it is said that the iPhone 14 Pro has accounted for almost 85 percent of the early pre-orders, which is a lot. The iPhone 14 Plus, which was expected to be the sales driver for the masses, has only seen bookings accounting for 5 percent of sales! Data for the other two models are yet to be available.

The data accounts for offline pre-orders in China and Kuo says this is normal. After all, the early pre-order most likely comes from Apple loyalists and early adopters seeking the latest in technology. It is said that the iPhone 14 Plus could account for mega sales later in the iPhone 14 series' lifecycle. The iPhone 14 Plus sales will begin in mid October 2022.

iPhone 14 Pro sees huge demand in pre-orders

Prior to the launch of the iPhone 14 series, it was said that Apple hopes to sell more Pro variants this year than the regular models. If you look at the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, these models get the most upgrades this year. The standard iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus are mild upgrades over the iPhone 13 from last year.

The iPhone 14 Pro is the one that brings the new A16 Bionic chipset. While the performance gains are not substantial, the A16 is based on the 4nm platform promising superior power efficiency. Then there's the new display design that gets rid of the notch in favour of the new Dynamic Island – a new way to mask the dual cutouts for the camera and sensors.

Even when it comes to the cameras, which is the main feature for many iPhone buyers, it is the iPhone 14 Pro that gets a new camera sensor. The main camera gets a new 48MP sensor that promises better low light performance and superior details. This is accompanied by a new 12MP ultrawide camera sensor that also promises better low light performance. All three cameras are relying on the Photonic Engine to enhance overall low light performance.

Lastly, the presence of a variable refresh rate display going as low as 1Hz allows for an Always On Display functionality. The AOD on the iPhone 14 Pro keeps the clock widgets and wallpapers visible even after the display is locked.
