The iPhone 14 series is tipped to get a major upgrade in its charging speed courtesy the current iPhone 13. Check what the latest iPhone 14 leak is all about here.

Just a week ahead of the iPhone 14 launch, a new leak has just shed light on the likely upgraded fast charging option. Twitter user DuanRui, who has been active for quite some time with his accurate Apple predictions, suggests that iPhone 14 range may feature a new 30W charging support, which will be a major upgrade over the current iPhone 13 with 20W charging support. However, the iPhone 13 Pro Max does support 27W charging albeit temporarily in a test, hinting towards the possibility of 30W support, an AppleInsider report suggested.

"The iPhone 14 Pro series may use 30W charging power? Recently, a charger brand began to send new charger products to the media, and it will advertise in the experience video of the iPhone 14 series," DhanRui Tweet reads. Currently, the iPhone 13 comes with 20W adapter support that promises to charge 50 percent of its battery in 30 minutes. However, the latest leak echoes a previous report on a 30W GaN charger coming to Apple iPhones by famous tipster Ming-Chi Kuo.

In the same tweet thread, he also confirmed that the “data cable given by the charger manufacturer is still the Lightning interface.” Earlier, several reports said that Apple is planning to change the iPhone charging port to USB-C in 2023 with the iPhone 15 launch.

Which iPhone 14 models will get the 30W charging

It is not clear yet, if it may be limited to Pro models along with several other upgrades, or if the whole lineup will feature the 30W charging support. AppleInsider report suggests that limitations could also be placed based on the battery size. That means, there is another possibility of only "max" models of the iPhone 14 series getting the updated charging support.

However, this can only be confirmed after the launch of the iPhone 14 series. And the good news is that you don't have to wait long! Apple finally made it official when it announced its ‘Far Out', event scheduled for September 7. It is most likely to launch four new models - the standard iPhone 14, large iPhone 14 Max/Plus, the Pro version, and the highly specced iPhone 14 Pro Max.
