iPhone 15 Pro may not get 8P lens camera update according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 15 series in the month of September 2023. Though a long time to go, reports and leaks have already started informing about the expected specifications the phone may have. According to the latest details, iPhone 15 Pro is expected not to offer the 8P camera lens to users. Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at TF International Securities, informed about the same by tweeting, "I think the rumored iPhone 15 Pro series's adoption of an 8P lens won't likely come true."

It can be known that 8P refers to eight plastic lenses and is a reference to the number of elements available in the lens. Also, earlier there were reports claiming that the iPhone 15 Pro models can get this camera update.

Apple analyst Kuo has been informing about several details and specifications iPhone 15 series can get or ditch.

Earlier, the analyst had informed that the volume button and the power button of two high end iPhone 15 models may adopt a solid state button design similar to home button design of iPhone 7/8/SE2 and 3. He tweeted, "My latest survey indicates that the volume button and power button of two high-end iPhone 15/2H23 new iPhone models may adopt a solid-state button design (similar to the home button design of iPhone 7/8/SE2 & 3) to replace the physical/mechanical button design."

He further in a series of tweets informed that there will be Taptic Engines located on the internal left and right sides to provide force feedback to make users feel like they are pressing physical buttons. He went on to say that due to this design change, the number of Taptic Engines used in each iPhone will increase from the current one to three.

Analyst Kuo also said that Apple is expected to create massive differentiation between iPhone 15 Pros and iPhone 15 standard models. "I believe Apple will create more differentiation between iPhone 15 Pros and iPhone 15 standard models to increase Pro shipment allocation and the new iPhone ASP (average selling price)," his tweet read. Kuo said that Apple may create differentiation between the iPhone 15 Pro Max and the iPhone 15 Pro models in order to generate more sales and profits in a mature market.

Apple is also expected to kill the Pro Max model with the launch of the iPhone 15 series. Apple launched the iPhone 14 series including the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Apple is expected to create a huge gap between its Pro and Pro MAX models with iPhone 15 starting with a rebranding of the Pro Max as the iPhone 15 Ultra.

The iPhone 15 lineup is expected to feature a unified design utilizing the Dynamic Island. Also, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman in his Power On newsletter had said that he does not expect Touch ID to return with the iPhone 15 or other flagship models in the coming future.
