Here’s Everything Apple Could Launch At The Scary Fast Event

10 months ago 71

Apple is about to host the Scary Fast event on October 31 at 05:30 AM IST. Although this is an online-only presentation, people worldwide can watch it live on the company’s official social channels. At the event, Apple is expected to reveal the next-generation models of its most popular chipset and computers, including the M series, MacBooks, and iMac.

New Chipsets, MacBooks, and iMac

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple will “update a device that’s coming up on its 40th anniversary: the Mac.” At the Scary Fast event, enthusiasts and fans should expect to see new MacBook Pros and iMacs with the company’s new M3 chipset based on 3nm fabrication technology. These chipsets should significantly improve over the M2 chips released last year, both in terms of performance and power efficiency. However, the notebooks and desktops won’t come with a new design.

Expect Three Tiers Of The New M3 Chipset

At the Scary Fast event, the company could unveil three tiers of its new M3 chipsets. These include the vanilla M3, M3 Pro, and the M3 Max. The M3 chipset could feature eight processing cores, including four performance-oriented and four efficiency cores, along with a 10-core graphics processing unit. Then there’s the M3 Pro, which starts with 12 processing and 18 graphics cores.

As we’ve seen with the M2 Pro, the M3 Pro should also be configurable with up to 14 processing and 30 graphics cores. The most powerful silicon of the lineup, M3 Max, should offer up to 16 primary and 40 graphics cores. Apple could include the M3 Pro and M3 Max chipsets in the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models.

The High-End M3 Chips Will Power New MacBook Pros

The Bloomberg report mentions that two new MacBook Pros, with the codename J514 and J516, could launch at the event. Although the exterior and the overall form factor of the notebooks should be the same, the new chipsets should improve the overall performance and, more importantly, the battery life of the models.

We Could Also See A New 24-inch iMac

Apart from the new MacBooks powered with the M3 chips, Apple could also unveil a new 24-inch iMac with the baseline M3 chip. The report mentions the new models’ codenames to be J433 and J434. These could also include a revamped stand.

Besides the products that will come out at the event, there might be some that don’t make it. For instance, the company has reportedly been working on a low-end MacBook Pro (J504) with the M3 chip, but that won’t appear. Further, new MacBook Air models with 13-inch and 15-inch displays powered by the M3 chip won’t make it to the upcoming Apple event. Last but not least, Apple isn’t planning to unveil new iPads and AirPods until next year.
