Google Pixel Watch 2 Is Facing Intermittent Charging Issues

Google released the Pixel Watch 2 earlier this year. Although it looks similar to the original Pixel Watch, the latest smartwatch from the Alphabet-owned company offers a better chipset for faster performance, improved battery life, and new health-tracking sensors. However, just a few months after the launch, several users report facing a weird charging issue that isn’t letting them charge their Pixel Watch 2.

Pixel Watch 2 Intermittent Charging Issue

Several Pixel Watch 2 owners have posted on Reddit, expressing concern about the smartwatch’s charging. One user has reported that instead of drawing power, his Pixel Watch 2 started draining power when connected to the four-pin charger provided in the box. The user contacted Google support to inform them about the issue but wasn’t given an immediate resolution. Further, he even tried replacing the charging cable and wall socket, but nothing worked.

Further, the user visited a nearby store to try his luck with the Pixel Watch 2 on display. To his surprise, the display model started charging with the same charger, indicating an issue with the smartwatch itself. Upon making several attempts to charge his smartwatch at home, the Reddit user succeeded at some. However, even with a new charger, he had difficulty charging his Watch 2.

Talking To Google Store Team Over Chat Seems To Be The Only Solution

During this time, the user didn’t get a satisfactory response from Google support. However, later, he managed to chat with support staff through live chat and got a replacement unit, but Google has yet to offer the resolution to other users facing the same problem. As he mentioned in the Reddit post, users should head to the Google One support page, chat with a customer representative, inform them about the issue, and ask them to reconnect to the Google Store team for an exchange.

Other users are also facing the same intermittent charging issue. Whether the Pixel Watch 2 is causing the problem or the bundled charger is defective is not known. Since Google is aware of the case, there’s a good chance that it will issue replacements to users who are facing trouble charging their Pixel Watch 2. However, the company hasn’t provided a resolution timeline.
