March Google Pixel Feature Drop

Google has released another quarterly feature update for Pixel users. The March update adds many features, including a new Call Screen, uploading HDR videos and photos on Instagram, Circle to Search for the Pixel 7 series and other abilities for the Pixel Watch. Check out more details about the March Pixel Feature Drop below.

New Call Screen For Pixel Users

The March feature drop for Pixel phones comes with an improved Call Screen. On the new Call Screen, users now see a “hello” chip when a caller is unresponsive. Callers can simply tap the button while screening a call, asking Google Assistant to prompt the caller to speak. If users can’t answer the call immediately, the assistant will tell the caller to wait longer.

Along with the new Call Screen, Pixel users (with Pixel 7, Pixel 8, and Pixel Fold) can now record and share 10-bit HDR videos and Ultra HDR photos directly on Instagram Reels and feeds. The feature drop extends Circle to Search, a feature that enables users to conduct a quick Google Search by selecting an area on the screen, to Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. However, the feature isn’t available immediately, but it will roll out soon.

Pixel Watch Gets Several New Features

March Feature Drop new features for Pixel Watch

Apart from features for Pixel phones, the March drop adds a few abilities to the first-gen Pixel Watch. The smartwatch can now help users set a goal pace during an exercise with its in-built GPS and motion trackers as part of a feature called Pace Training. When users fall out of the target pace, they’ll get haptics and voice cues. The original Pixel Watch also gets Heart Zone Training, a feature that helps users track the time they spend in each heart rate zone based on resting rate and fitness levels.

Going forward, Pixel Watches will also be able to automatically start and stop workouts, including running, walking, outdoor bike riding, treadmill walking, etc. The watch also gets a completely redesigned workout user interface, including larger text and brighter colors that help users easily see their workout stats for pace and heart rate at a glance. Post workouts, users can head to the Fitbit Realax app for a guided breathing exercise session. Last but not least, users will also get public transit directions and different transit options on their smartwatch.

Other features coming to the portfolio of Pixel devices include app screen sharing that allows users to share the content of a specific app, the ability to quickly pair your devices with Fast Pair, provide handwritten feedback in Google Docs, and get more screen space with an improved toolbar on Pixel Tablet. These features will be available to Pixel device users over the next few days.
