Google copies Apple! This time, it is for its Pixel 7 Pro camera

Google has copied Apple again and this time, it is for its cameras on the Pixel 7 Pro. The Pixel 7 Pro has been around since October 2022 and has proven to be a worthy opponent to the iPhone 14 Pro. More versatile camera, a great software, and a unique design make the Pixel 7 Pro a great phone to consider, especially at a much lower price than the iPhone 14 Pro. However, Pixel 7 Pro had an eerily similar issue found on the iPhone 13 Pro from last year, and Google has gone for an Apple-style fix.

You see, the Pixel 7 Pro gets an advanced ultrawide camera system with an autofocus tech. This allows the camera to change its focal length and take photos in macro mode. The default camera software on the Pixel 7 Pro had the tendency to automatically switch between normal mode and macro mode once it detected a subject up close. Users often complained about this and Google responded.

Pixel 7 Pro gets fix for macro mode camera

The Google Pixel 7 Pro with its latest camera update now offers an option to manually toggle macro mode on or off. Similar to the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro, users can simply tap on the option to enable the macro mode. The auto mode is still present for those who want the phone to handle everything.

The Pixel 7 Pro also got the newest Pixel Drop update. This added features such as Clear Calling, a new free VPN service by Google One, an improved voice recorder app that identifies speakers, and several other bug fixes.

The Pixel 7 Pro is available in India in only a single 128GB variant, costing Rs. 84999. There is also an affordable Pixel 7 that costs Rs. 59999. Both phones use the Google Tensor G2 chip that enables superior AI performance, and overall better performance. Google will offer three Android OS updates and five years of security patches on the Pixel 7 series.
