Galaxy S24 To Be The “Smartest AI Smartphone Ever,” Says Report

10 months ago 73

Smartphone manufacturers like Apple, Google, and Samsung are running after AI-related features that can improve the user experience in several ways. While Google recently launched the Pixel 8 series with several features like Magic Editor, generative wallpapers, and so on, Apple is also working on including its language model’s capabilities to Siri. Now, the South Korean tech giant Samsung plans to include a suite of AI tools on its Galaxy S24 series, which is about to be released early next year.

Galaxy S24 Will Create Content, Generate Images On Demand

Per SamMobile, Samsung is working to turn the upcoming Galaxy S24 series into the “smartest AI smartphones ever.” For the uninitiated, the series will consist of three smartphones: the vanilla Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, and the S24 Ultra.

To achieve this, the company relies on established AI industry players and their services, like OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Bard. The report mentions that the phones might be able to create content based on users’ inputs. Further, Samsung is said to include a text-to-image feature, which the company is developing in-house.

S24 Series To Run On Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 In The US

The Samsung Galaxy S24 series is expected to feature the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, which comes with 98 percent improved AI performance. Qualcomm mentions that the chipset can support up to 10B parameters for Gen AI models. From what it looks like, Samsung will utilize the chipset’s AI capabilities to facilitate the features. It is important to mention that the Galaxy S24 and the Galaxy S24 Plus could feature the Exynos 2400 SoC outside the United States.

In the past, Exynos chips haven’t been as powerful or efficient as the Snapdragon chips; hence, whether the company can provide the same AI features on the models that run on Exynos is something that we’ll see with time. Nonetheless, we are months from the Galaxy S24’s launch, and there’s a good chance that more details about the phone will turn up shortly. Until then, readers should take this information with a pinch of salt.
