Exclusive: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 360-Degree Video And 5K Renders; Say Hello to Boxy Aesthetics

6 months ago 59

The Galaxy Z Fold 6, leaks and rumors about the device have been floating around for a while now and yesterday we reported that Samsung might launch the next-generation foldables, Galaxy Ring & Galaxy XR in July. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 was an incremental upgrade over its predecessor and fans now have their fingers crossed for the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Following the series of leaks, Smartprix in collaboration with renowned tipster OnLeaks, presents to you the exclusive Galaxy Z Fold 6 design renders. We have managed to present to you the 360-degree video and 5K renders of the Galaxy Z Fold 6. Let’s take a closer look.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 360-Degree View

The design renders, in collaboration with OnLeaks, reveal the 360-degree design of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 with completely flat sides, matching the aesthetics of the recently launched Galaxy S24 series. A few seconds into the 360-degree view video, we can see the Galaxy Z Fold 6 unfolded in a dark gray color. This could very well be the Phantom Black color that we are looking at.

Moving further into the video, we can notice that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 has a boxy frame, which is in line with Samsung’s latest flagship S24 series. We can also notice that the phone retains the same ports on the top and the bottom, comprising three microphones and a speaker grill at the top while a USB-C port, another microphone, and a speaker grill at the bottom.

The 3D renders also showcase the Galaxy S24 Ultra (review) style new speaker grill design on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 that resembles what we have on the latest Galaxy S24 series devices. We also have the power button with an embedded fingerprint scanner, the volume rockers on the right, and the SIM card slot on the left of the device.

Furthermore, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 boasts a triple camera system on the rear accompanied by a flash adjacent to the camera module, in the same fashion as its predecessor. There’s also a punch-hole selfie camera on the outer screen and the infamous under-display selfie camera on the inner screen.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 Screen Sizes And Dimensions

As per the renders, the Galaxy Z Fold 6’s inner screen measures approximately 7.6 inches diagonally and the device has a dimension of 153.5 x 132.5 x 6.1 mm when unfolded. On the front, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 has a cover display measuring approximately 6.2 inches.

Comparing it to the Galaxy Z Fold 5 (review), which has a dimension of 154.9 x 129.9 x 6.1 mm (unfolded), we can conclude that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is 1.4 mm shorter and 2.6 mm wider than its predecessor.

Although we were hoping for a more drastic change in the Galaxy Z Fold 6’s design, Samsung seems to be taking a more gradual approach. Looking at the competition, the OnePlus Open (review) is about as tall as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 but is wider and thinner. The Google Pixel Fold 2 CAD-based renders that we shared last week are even wider and thinner than the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Also, since the Galaxy Z Fold 6 has the same thickness as its predecessor (6.1 mm), we can assume that Samsung is still using the droplet-style hinge. Finally, there is no mount or storage slot for the S Pen on the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 Expected Specifications

Per the renders and what we discussed above, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will have a 6.2-inch cover display and a 7.6-inch inner display. This is similar to what we have on the Galaxy Z Fold 5. Both displays will be Dynamic AMOLED and support a 120 Hz refresh rate.

While the inner display will be made of plastic or ultra-thin glass, as Samsung calls it, the cover display should have the new Corning Gorilla Glass Armor for protection. We can also expect a higher peak brightness of about 2,600 Nits.

Under the hood, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is expected to pack the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 For Galaxy chipset, the same one that we have on the company’s latest flagship series. The phone will also have 12 or 16 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage.

As for the cameras, the phone will likely use the same sensors as the Galaxy Z Fold 5. The phone should have a 50 MP + 12 MP + 10 MP camera system on the rear, a 10 MP selfie camera, and a 4 MP under-display camera on the inner screen.

The battery size and the charging speed should also remain the same at 25W. The phone will also ship with One UI 6.1.1 based on Android 14 out of the box and should get 7 major OS updates and 7 years of security updates.

Finally, we are expecting the Galaxy Z Fold 6 to be announced in late July 2024 at an Unpacked event. Early buyers should be able to get their hands on the device by August 2024.
