Home Mobile News Excited about iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max? This cheaper model may beat them both!

The rumors and leaks around the upcoming iPhone 14 series suggest all the major upgrades will be coming to the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. But this cheaper model might come out as the dark horse this year.

As the countdown for the big launch of Apple iPhone 14 series continues, the rumors market is bringing the nitty-gritty details of the individual models. And based on the various leaks, the general consensus remains that the Pro models — iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max — are clear winners when it comes to receiving the best of the upgrades compared to iPhone 13 series. But a closer look highlights that a cheaper iPhone 14 model, the iPhone 14 Max, can be the dark horse this year and be the crowd favorite. How? Read on to find out.

It is obvious when you look at the leaked specifications, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max appear to win the race by a landslide. The Pro smartphones are expected to receive the A16 Bionic chipset, a 48MP primary camera, always-on display, a 120Hz ProMotion display and ditch the notch in favor of a dual pill and a hole cutout, based on various leaks. And on the other hand, the non-Pro models are rumored to be stuck with the notch, the A15 Bionic chipset, a 12MP primary camera, no always-on display and to miss out on 120Hz ProMotion display. Yet, if you look beyond the spec sheet, the iPhone 14 Max still seems like a better deal.

iPhone 14 Max can give the iPhone 14 Pro & iPhone 14 Pro Max a tough competition

To make a case for the iPhone 14 Max is difficult given that the spec difference between the models is quite wide. And it goes without saying that people who buy the iPhone for its performance and power will likely be swayed towards the iPhone 14 Pro Max. However, not everyone who buys the iPhone has a performance requirement and this is where Max comes in.

A recent leak by Wedbush Securities analyst Dan Ives reveals that the iPhone Pro models can see a steep price hike of $100 (some have even said $150). If it is $100, this would mean that the iPhone 14 Pro can start from $1,099 and iPhone 14 Pro Max might start at the price of $1,199. Interestingly, the iPhone 14 is expected to remain at $799 like the iPhone 13. But where does that put the iPhone 14 Max? Starting right in between at $899, according to the leaks. And this is what might make the difference. A probable price tag of $200 less than the cheapest Pro model, along with a large 6.7-inch display can make it appealing for the consumers who use iPhone for mainly casual usage, social media scrolling and binge watching content and of course, all the other professional things that a working person does.

However, this is all based on speculations, and what might really happen in sales records can only be clear once the smartphones are officially launched.
