Apple speaks up on the iPhone 14 Pro shortage issue, CEO Tim Cook affirms stock shortage should end soon.

iPhone 14 Pro is facing severe stock shortages across the world, and Apple has been struggling to fill up the stocks. People are lining up outside stores to get the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, especially since demand for the standard iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus have dropped massively when compared to Apple's expectations. In fact, reports have been online of Apple pulling down on the production capacity of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus to accommodate for the 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max.

Now, Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, has also spoken out on the issue of the stock shortage. In the earnings call, Cook said that Apple is working very hard to fulfil the demand for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The customer demand for the Pro variants is stronger than what Apple had originally anticipated. The production has been constrained on the 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max from the beginning.

iPhone 14 Pro demand higher than Apple's expectations

Cook went on to say that the constrained demand for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will continue to be around for a while. Deliveries in the US from the Apple Online Store are said to happen from November.

On the other hand, reports have suggested that consumers have not been interested enough on the standard iPhone 14 and the bigger iPhone 14 Plus, both of which are mildly updated variants of the iPhone 13 from last year.

Despite the lower demand, Apple has reported a revenue bump of 10 percent this quarter. This could be largely attributed to the Pro models selling in higher numbers, both of which are priced much higher than the standard models this year. The Pro variants are the only ones that get the new 2022 upgrades, including the Dynamic Island, the new 48MP main camera, A16 Bionic chip, and a variable refresh rate display of 1Hz-120Hz. The A16 Bionic is based on the newer 4nm chip, promising a mild boost in overall performance.
